Moscow

The story begins with a plot on the outskirts of Moscow. The family wanted a contemporary re-working of the traditional Dacha. Key spaces are orientated to provide specific views of the mature trees which were retained on the plot. In addition to the family home, a standalone spa building sits across from the house, linked by the strong form of the basalt wall that cuts into both buildings.
